Help save the day by donating blood through the American Red Cross
Blue Mounds, WI -- A+ Plumbing, JG Development and Kittleson Landscaping will host an American Red Cross, Badger Chapter blood drive on Wednesday, July 6 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The blood drive will be held at JG?s Natural Element Homes Gallery located at 4070 E. Brigham Road in Blue Mounds.
To make an appointment, visit http://www.JGDevelopment.com or contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-448-3543. Walk-ins are welcome. A wide selection of baked goods will be available after donations and all donors will be entered into a drawing for a $30.00 Mt. Horeb Chamber of Commerce gift certificate. For more information contact Michelle at 608-437-6181.
To help raise awareness about the need for regular blood and platelet donations during the summer months, and to thank donors for giving, the Mid-America Blood Services Division of the American Red Cross developed a special summer blood donation campaign called Good to Give. Good to Go.
Presenting donors (ages 21 and older) between May 16 and September 7, 2011 will be entered for a chance to win a trip for four to Orlando, Florida each time they visit the Red Cross to give blood or platelets. To show appreciation of those who commit to helping save lives between June 27 and July 6, 2011, the Red Cross is raffling off portable Garmin GPS units.
The Red Cross is proud to partner with 3M and Roush Fenway Racing for the fourth year in a row to bring the Red Cross Racing program to dedicated blood and platelet donors nationwide. After each donation, donors can log on to http://www.redcrossracing.com to record their blood and platelet donations and get points that they can exchange for great prizes or donate to the Red Cross Services to the Armed Forces.
The "Summer Drive Sweepstakes" runs from May 25 through September 14, 2011 and offers presenting donors (ages 18 and older) the chance to win a 2012 Ford Fiesta SE.
All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card, driver?s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
About the American Red Cross
